Her-Story of US Activism
Her-Story of US Activism
Welcome to Her-story of Activism, a platform that showcases the inspiring stories of women activists who have impacted United States History. This website is dedicated to providing teachers with a comprehensive resource to incorporate women activists in their classrooms. With provided lecture notes, spotlight activist summaries, recommended videos or reading resources, and classroom activities, teachers can engage their students in learning about the contributions of women activists in shaping our society.

Unfortunately, covering all instances of women's activism in the United States is impossible. Nonetheless, this website serves as a resource focused on US women's activism from the mid-nineteenth century through the late twentieth century. This platform provides a jumping-off point for highlighting women in the US history curriculum. Women activists and their stories are the center of each lesson to break women's confinement to stereotypically feminine roles and characteristics in history.

Users may choose to use the resources provided by this platform in various ways. Lecture notes from each topic may be used as a whole, or specific sections may be chosen. The full lecture notes may not be utilized at all, but the spotlight activists may be highlighted within a teacher's previously established curriculum. Teachers may also choose to develop lectures without the provided material but to implement the recommended readings or videos within their classrooms. This resource is meant to be dynamic and used differently to whichever extent best serves the individual teacher.
